BANGALORE: Voicing the concerns of paternal grandparents, Children’s Rights Initiative for Shared Parenting (CRISP) president Kumar Jahgirdar emphasised the need for shared parenting in child custody cases.Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Jahgirdar said that with shared parenting, the catastrophic effects of a divorce or separation are minimised not only on the father, but also on the paternal grandparents.“In today’s age of increasing divorces, many children are facing the ignominy of single parenting, in spite of the other parent being alive. Due to single parenting, children develop severe psychological scars,” he added.
